HOW DO I ENTER?

WHEN IS THE LAST DAY TO ENTER?

Online entries close 10.00am Thursday 31 August 2017.

Late entries will be taken at registration on Friday 1 September and Saturday 2 September 2017 up until 20 minutes prior to the start of your event.

CAN I CHANGE MY DETAILS?

To change personal or entry details email us with KOR Changes in the subject line.

CAN I WITHDRAW AND DO I GET A REFUND?

CAN I TRANSFER TO ANOTHER EVENT OR DISTANCE?

Yes if you inform us 7 days prior to the event.

WHEN ARE RACE PACKS SENT OUT?

Packs and numbers are not sent out. All entrants must collect a registration pack with race number and timing tag from event headquarters prior to starting.

CAN I PICK UP MY FRIENDS PACK / CAN MY FRIEND PICK UP MY PACK?

Yes — please ensure your friend knows you are collecting their pack and you have made arrangements to meet up.

DO I NEED TO BRING MY CONFIRMATION OR REGISTRATION NUMBER?

No you just need to know how to spell your name. Your confirmation would be helpful in case there is as problem finding your registration.

HOW MUCH ARE THE EVENT SHIRTS?

MARMOT event shirts are $39.00 Be sure to pre order your shirt to avoid missing out. Limited numbers may be available for purchase at registration.

DO I GET A FINiSHERS MEDAL?

Only the marathon distance (42.2km) finishers receive a medal.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

The weather in Kinloch in September can range from cold frosty, foggy mornings with blue sky days to a brisk southerly coming across the lake and rain.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

It is best to dress like an onion - wear layers to peel off as you warm up.

CAN I USE MY IPOD/MP3?

For safety resons the use of iPods/MP3 players is not recommended.

CAN I PUSH A BUGGY?

No - The courses are off-road trails with two way traffic and not suitable for buggies and wheelchair users.

CAN A TEAM DO A RELAY?

No — these are not relay events.

WHAT HYDRATION DO YOU SUPPLY?

Half marathon, Quarter marathon and 5km — there is no water on the course you must carry your own.

Marathon — water is at Kawakawa and the Whangamata Road turnaround which also has Loaded Isotonic Sport Drink.

Replacement supplement and water at finish line for all events.

CAN I NORDIC WALK?

Nordic walking is welcome. Please don't use the poles on other entrants unless they are running walkers!

WHAT DISTANCE MARKS ARE THERE?

Kinloch Marathon — to be confirmed. Kinloch Off Road Half Marathon — every km

There are no distance marks on the 10 or 5 k courses

ARE THERE SHOWERS FOR AFTERWARDS?

There are no showering facilities in Kinloch. If you are brave enough try a dip in the lake.

IS THE COURSE REALLY HILLY AND STEEP?

The off-road marathon and half marathon are quite hilly. Check the course profiles here.

SHOULD I BE DOING SOME SERIOUS HILL TRAINING?

The off-road marathon and half marathon courses are hilly. Some off road hill training is recommended.

IS THE PATH VERY WIDE? I GENERALLY WALK WITH A FRIEND AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IN ADVANCE IF YOU COULDN'T WALK IN PAIRS.

The off-road courses are quite narrow you are asked to go in single file as there will be two way traffic. There may also be mountain bikers on the course as the tracks are not closed.

CAN MY PARTNER AND I ENTER AS A FAMILY?

No - the family entry has been set up to encourage Mum, Dad (or primary caregivers) and the children to get out and enjoy an active day together. The price is set up as an affordable way to make this happen for them, acknowledging the extra financial commitments that families with children face. Accordingly, this is not an entry option for just two adults.

IS THERE A CUT OFF TIME?

Marathon entrants MUST be at the 23km mark turnaround by 10.30am (3hrs 30mins) or you will be officially withdrawn from the event.

There is no official cut off for the other distances. The half marathon finisher's are usually in before prize giving at 1.30pm - that's 4.5 hours.

DOES THE MARATHON QUALIFY FOR THE 63.3 SERIES?

No - the 63.3 series is for the three half marathons only (Tauhara, Taupo & Kinloch). There is other combo options which include the marathon.
